Applying for A Passport and Travel Tips

When applying, you'll need to bring to your nearest government

Native North Dakotans can get birth certificate copies from the
Division of Vital Records (701) 328-2360.
Vital
Records is on your right when you come in the east entrance of the capital
building. Certified copies are $7. If you were born out of state, ask our crack Photo Express staff for the list of the state vital record departments or check at http://www.vitalrec.com . Application FeesAdult application fees are $97.
Since the passport fees and execution fees are paid separately, you will
need separate checks for $57 and $30. Fees for minors age 15 and younger are $82 ($52 plus $30).
A guardian must accompany a minor when applying. Adult passports are good for 10 years. Minor passports are good for 5 years. ApplicationsThe Photo Express keeps extra passport applications on hand.

Passports are only issued by the U.S. State Department. Processing takes 6-9 weeks. Each nation has its own rules, applications, and fee structure.
